German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz has officially launched an Apple Watch version of its mobile app, enabling owners to interact with their vehicles from their wrists without needing to reach for their smartphones. This move marks a significant step forward in the company's efforts to provide a more integrated and convenient ownership experience.
The new Apple Watch app, available for download through the Apple Watch App Store, replicates popular features from the Mercedes-Benz mobile app, including the ability to monitor vehicle charge or fuel levels, estimated range, and remotely lock and unlock the vehicle. Additionally, users can check if their windows are closed and locate their vehicle when parked, complete with pedestrian-friendly navigation directions leading right to it. In areas where mapping is unavailable, a virtual compass will direct users to their vehicle's location.
The Apple Watch app is compatible with Apple Watches running watchOS 9 or later, but requires the Mercedes-Benz mobile app to be installed on the connected iPhone. The features available through the watch app will depend on the vehicle's model and equipment, and it's only compatible with 2019 and newer Mercedes-Benz models.

By extending the functionality of its mobile app to the Apple Watch, Mercedes-Benz is providing owners with a more seamless and integrated ownership experience, allowing them to stay connected to their vehicles wherever they go.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the integration of wearable technology is likely to play an increasingly important role. With the launch of its Apple Watch app, Mercedes-Benz is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and provide customers with a more connected and convenient driving experience.
For Mercedes-Benz owners, the new Apple Watch app is a welcome addition to the company's suite of digital tools and services.
