AT&T Launches Network Test Drive Program, Catching Up with Rivals

In a move to stay competitive in the market, AT&T has finally introduced its own network test drive program, allowing customers to try out its network without making a commitment. Dubbed "Try AT&T," the program utilizes eSIM technology, enabling users to add a secondary line to their phone without giving up their primary number.

The 30-day trial period includes 100GB of data and 25GB of hotspot data, with no credit card or commitment required. However, users will need an unlocked phone, specifically an iPhone XR or newer, to participate. Android support is slated to arrive in 2025.

This move brings AT&T in line with its rivals, T-Mobile and Verizon, which have been offering similar programs for years. T-Mobile's trial period lasts three months, while Verizon's program provides 30 days of free service.

The significance of this development lies in the increasing importance of network quality in the consumer's decision-making process. With the rise of eSIM technology, carriers are now able to offer more flexible and convenient trial options, making it easier for customers to compare and choose the best network for their needs.
