In a significant move, Apple has released developer betas for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, packed with innovative Apple Intelligence features. These updates come just a week ahead of the public release of OS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which will bring a suite of writing tools, image cleanup, article summaries, and a revamped Siri experience to users.
The new features include Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, Image Wand, and integration with ChatGPT, marking a major leap in Apple's small model approach to generative AI. To facilitate seamless integration, Apple has also rolled out APIs for Writing Tools, Genmoji, and Image Playground.
In a bid to expand its language localization capabilities, Apple has added support for English dialects in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK. While users in China and the EU may face regulatory hurdles, Apple has announced plans to introduce support for 11 additional languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, next year.
