Snowflake has announced its latest innovation, Snowflake Intelligence, a low-code platform designed to help enterprises unlock insights from their data and take action using AI-powered data agents. Unveiled at the company's Build 2024 developer conference, the platform is expected to enter private preview soon.
Snowflake Intelligence allows users to create custom data agents using natural language, addressing question-and-answer tasks that require structured data. The platform will eventually support unstructured data from sources like Google Workspace, Confluence, and Salesforce, enabling users to derive insights from multiple sources.
The platform combines Snowflake's Cortex AI, Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst, and Horizon Catalog capabilities, providing a powerful tool for enterprises to automate processes and gain deeper insights from their data. With Snowflake Intelligence, data agents can even take actions on behalf of users, making it a significant development in the agentic AI space.
The move marks a significant step forward for Snowflake, as it competes with other major vendors like Salesforce, Microsoft, and IBM in the agentic AI market. The company has not yet announced the general availability of the Intelligence platform, but its potential to transform enterprise data analysis and automation is undeniable.
