In a bid to simplify brand collaborations for creators, Berlin-based startup Passionfroot has secured $3.8 million in seed funding to build a marketplace and toolkit for business-focused creators. The funding round was led by VC Supernode Global, with participation from notable investors such as Miro CEO Andrey Khusid's s16vc, Sequoia, Accel's Scout Fund, and Creandum.
Founded by Jen Phan, a former early-stage investor, Passionfroot aims to address the inefficiencies in the brand partnership process, which remains a primary revenue stream for creators. The platform enables creators to build a storefront for ad or brand partnership slots across various channels, including newsletters, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Brands can discover and book campaigns with creators through automated scheduling, making it easier to collaborate and manage payouts.
Passionfroot's solution comes at a time when the creator economy is booming, with US influencer marketing spending expected to reach $7.14 billion in 2024. The startup's focus on the B2B segment and its unique product-market fit position it for success in a crowded market.
