Luna, a London-based startup, has launched a revolutionary health and wellness app designed specifically for teenage girls. The app, which presented at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, aims to educate and support teen girls as they navigate the challenges of puberty and adolescence.
Founded by best friends Jas Schembri-Stothart and Jo Goodall, Luna was born out of an MBA project at Oxford University. The duo, along with their team, identified a significant gap in the market for a platform that provides accurate and trustworthy information about women's health, particularly during adolescence.
The app allows users to ask anonymous questions and receive responses from experts, including general practitioners, gynecologists, and dermatologists. It also features tracking tools for periods, moods, and skin, providing users with personalized insights and recommendations. With nearly 45,000 questions asked and 100,000 members, Luna is already making a significant impact.
Luna's freemium model offers users unlimited access to the app for €2.99 per month, and the startup has raised €1.4 million in funding from investors including Syndicate Room, Octopus Ventures, and Moonstone. With plans to launch in the US market next year, Luna is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of teenage girls worldwide.
