Kia has made a significant move in the electric vehicle market by unveiling the 2025 EV9 GT, a high-performance version of its three-row SUV. This new model boasts over 500 horsepower, a zero-to-60mph acceleration of 4.3 seconds, and electronically controlled suspension for smooth handling.
The EV9 GT also features virtual gear shifting, simulating the feel of a traditional automatic transmission, complete with fake engine noises. Additionally, it will come with a native Tesla/North American Charging System (NACS) port, allowing access to over 15,000 Supercharger stations without the need for an adapter.
In addition to the EV9 GT, Kia also announced a refreshed 2025 EV6 crossover, which will come with a bigger battery for more capacity and longer range. The new model year will also feature a native NACS port, making it compatible with Tesla Superchargers. This move by Kia and its sister company Hyundai signals a significant adoption of the new charging standard in the industry.
