In a significant expansion of its artificial intelligence capabilities, Google is rolling out its AI-generated search summaries to over 100 countries, including Canada, Australia, South Africa, and many more. This move marks a major milestone in the company's efforts to improve search results and provide users with more concise and relevant information.
The AI Overviews, which were initially launched in the US in May, will now appear in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. This means that users can search in their preferred language and receive an AI-generated summary in the same language.
While ads will not be displayed directly within AI Overviews in these new countries, Google has announced that ads will continue to appear in dedicated slots throughout the page. The company had previously rolled out ads in AI Overviews on mobile devices in the US earlier this month.
This expansion is a significant development for the tech and startup community, as it highlights Google's commitment to improving its search engine capabilities and providing users with more personalized and relevant results. The move is also likely to have implications for businesses and marketers, who will need to adapt their search engine optimization strategies to take into account the increasing use of AI-generated summaries.
