GoBlue App Launches to Fill Analytics Gap in Bluesky Ecosystem

As Bluesky, the Twitter-like social network, continues to gain popularity with nearly 24 million users, a new app called GoBlue has launched to help users track their following and analytics on the platform. Filling a gap in the Bluesky ecosystem, GoBlue offers a simple and intuitive interface for users to monitor their metrics in an iOS dashboard.

The idea for GoBlue was born out of developer Sven van der Zee's own experience as a daily Bluesky user. Van der Zee, a former avid Twitter user, noticed that Bluesky lacked built-in analytics tracking, prompting him to create an app to fill this gap. "Since switching over to Bluesky, I noticed that you could not see the stats in the app, so I decided to build an app myself," he told TechCrunch.

At launch, GoBlue offers a range of tools to track key metrics, including new followers, comments, likes, and reposts. The app's home screen displays these metrics as bar charts, allowing users to view their stats by day, week, month, or year. This feature is particularly useful for users looking to grow their Bluesky following, as it enables them to identify which posts resonate with their audience and at what time of day they attract the most engagement.

To use GoBlue, users simply need to sign in with their Bluesky handle and an app password, which can be created from Bluesky's Settings. This ensures that users can log into third-party applications without sharing their main Bluesky password with developers. For full access to their stats, users can choose from a one-time $19.99 fee or a monthly or annual subscription at $3.99 per month or $14.99 per year, respectively.

GoBlue is particularly useful for social media managers, offering insights into basic growth and engagement metrics that are not yet available in the Bluesky app itself. Additionally, users can monitor multiple Bluesky accounts from the app, making it a valuable tool for those tasked with managing multiple profiles.

Notably, GoBlue is an ad-free app with no daily limits on usage, providing a seamless user experience. Van der Zee has also announced plans to introduce iOS Home Screen widgets and post-specific analytics in future updates, which will offer even more insight into what type of content works to attract attention on Bluesky.

The launch of GoBlue comes at a time when interest in Bluesky is surging, particularly following the U.S. elections. As users increasingly look for alternatives to Elon Musk's X, the growth of Bluesky has spurred the development of more third-party apps for the platform. GoBlue joins a growing ecosystem of tools, including deck.blue, which offers a TweetDeck-like layout for Bluesky, and other apps like Tokimeki and Skeets, which aid in building custom feeds and more.

As Bluesky continues to evolve and attract new users, the launch of GoBlue marks an important milestone in the platform's growth. By providing users with a simple and effective way to track their analytics, GoBlue is poised to become an essential tool for anyone looking to build a strong presence on Bluesky.
