In a significant move, Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 18.2, packed with a slew of artificial intelligence (AI) features that promise to revolutionize the user experience. The update brings forth a range of tools, including image generation capabilities, visual intelligence that enables camera-based searches, and integration with ChatGPT.
Developers can now access Apple's image generation tools, dubbed Image Playground, and Genmoji, which allows for the creation of custom emojis. Additionally, the beta introduces more AI-powered writing features, further enhancing the capabilities of Apple's intelligent assistant, Siri.
This update marks the second batch of Apple Intelligence features, following the initial release of iOS 18.1, which is set to launch next week. While some features, such as Siri's ability to understand on-screen activity, are still pending, the iOS 18.2 beta demonstrates Apple's commitment to AI-driven innovation.
The tech giant has also released a corresponding macOS Sequoia 15.2 developer beta, featuring new Apple Intelligence tools, although Genmoji is notably absent from this update.
